Just in case you missed the Facebook posts here is a recap of what Jack and Joanne achieved this week…
Sept 20 – Great 48 state trip progress: Montana, our first day off from travel and speaking in a while.
The hills are dusted in snow, the smoke has cleared, it’s gorgeous!
As you’ll see from these shots the scenery is breath-taking.
The weather is crisp, to say the least. The cabin heater is on, the air is crisp. Adventures and new friends ahead!
“I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s difficult to analyze love when you’re in it.”
John Steinbeck, Travels with Charley: In Search of America.
Sept 22 – “Every picture tells a story, don’t it?” Joanne attaches her Wyoming sticker to her corny,
but cute map in the wet snow, while being ignored by wild buffalo at the edge of Yellowstone park.
Sept 22 – We stopped for lunch and coffee in North Dakota.
I take a look at the book reviews on my phone. Oh my gosh! Thanks to so many, they are better than I could have ask.
The reviews are a big deal to Amazon, please keep it up. Also if you like a review, you can “like” it, (I just learned that)
We parked next to a VW to compare size, Joanne prepares chicken in the little crockpot ($4 at goodwill).
It simmered all day through the mountain passes. The aroma increased as the day wore on, tempting us to stop early.
When we arrived creekside, dinner was ready.
In a beautiful park setting, RV’s of all shapes and colors lined the stream bank. My eye caught a 1985 Newell coach (one of my favorite bus’s)
Stepping down the owner introduced himself. We chatted about Bus’s and our Sprinter.
At one point I said I liked his “boat” by mistake. I apologized and told him I was a boat guy. He became interested and eventually bought a book.
This is his post below. This is really neat for me, to leave a story, and have another one made…
I had the pleasure of meeting you and your wife Joanne yesterday in the campground in Spearfish SD! My wife read your book aloud on our way home and we enjoyed it greatly.
The stories are so much more than just entertaining, and believe me they are, it is your insights into character and leadership that are something that I found to be the true gems of this book.
I encourage you to continue to write and will be watching for your next book! Safe travels and fair winds Captain! Dan and Mary.
You Can’t Make This Stuff Up
If you read my book, “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” Please leave a comment or review.
The reviews are awesome, and I am very grateful for the ones posted.
Amazon puts heavy weighting on reviews in their rankings, if the book ranks well, they expose it more. Just like “word of mouth” I hope you all enjoy the read.
